The Role of a Health Coach

A health coach serves as a supportive partner in an individual’s journey toward complete well-being. Their purpose is to help clients discover and implement sustainable lifestyle changes that enhance overall health and quality of life. The role of a health coach includes:

  1. Getting Clear: Helping clients identify barriers to living a healthy life.
  2. Education: Providing workshops, webinars and retreats about holistic health so as to include the body, mind and spirit in order to empower clients to make informed decisions when overcoming health challenges.
  3. Goal Setting: Working with clients to set realistic and achievable health goals based upon their individual needs and lifestyle.
  4. Accountability: Offering ongoing encouragement and check-ins to keep clients on track with their goals.
  5. Motivation: Inspiring clients to stay committed to their wellness journey and celebrating their progress.
  6. Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Working alongside doctors, dietitians, therapists, and other health professionals when necessary to support the client’s care plan.

Health Coaching Tools

At Welltopia, we use several tools to help bring clarity to all areas of your life, including one that provides biofeedback. It may be a little unconventional for a health coach, but we believe that knowledge is power.

1. Health History

We ask that this questionnaire be completed before our initial meeting. It is used to gather information about your past and current health journey. We need to understand where you have been and where you are now before moving forward.

2. Life Assessment

This tool asks you to rank twelve areas of your life that contribute to a healthy lifestyle. It helps you identify which area you want to focus on first and can be used again each time you reach a new milestone.


3. Biomarker Hand Scan

A hand scan measures your biomarkers at a specific moment in time and provides suggestions on foods, herbs and supplements that may help improve your health markers. It is a valuable tool, but it is only a snapshot and just one method for assessing the health of your body. When used together with your health history, life assessment, individual health goals and lifestyle, it becomes another supportive tool for wellness.


4. Education

Workshops, webinars and retreats provide information about holistic health and empower clients to make informed decisions when navigating health challenges. They also offer a relaxed environment with an easy path into health coaching and a sense of community.

Dianna Turk is a certified health coach dedicated to helping others live their best lives. She specializes in whole person well-being, addressing the body, mind, and spirit, and guides her clients toward deeper self-connection and alignment with their higher selves.

Dianna received her certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) but has been a lifelong student of health and wellness for as long as she can remember. She wants to share this passion with her clients by helping them reconnect with the innate wisdom they already possess to do what is right for them.
